MANUFACTURER & SUPPLIER IN INDIA | B2B UROLOGY INSTRUMENTS

URS Handle Manufacturer and Supplier in India

The URS Handle from Bharat Surgical is a reusable mechanical control component intended for compatible ureterorenoscopy forceps and grasping instruments. The handle transfers the surgeon’s hand movement to a long, slender insert or shaft, allowing a compatible distal jaw or prong assembly to open, close, deploy or retract during an endourological procedure.

Because “URS Handle” can refer to several handle and forceps configurations, buyers must specify whether they require only the handle or a complete URS instrument with shaft and distal tip. The insert diameter, working length, jaw profile and handle connection must all be confirmed before ordering.

Overview

What Is a URS Handle?

URS stands for ureterorenoscopy or ureteroscopy, depending on the terminology used by the hospital or supplier.

A URS Handle is the proximal operating component of a compatible endourology instrument. When connected to the correct insert or integrated shaft, it may control:

Opening and closing of flat jaws
Deployment of bi-prong, tri-prong, or four-prong graspers
Movement of an alligator-type jaw
Grasping of stone fragments and retrieval of selected foreign bodies
Controlled tissue or specimen handling
Retraction of the distal jaw into its sheath

The handle itself does not enter the ureter. It controls the slender instrument inserted through a compatible ureteroscope or endoscopic access channel.

Important Product Definition

The new website must distinguish among three different products:

URS Handle Only: A proximal control handle supplied without a shaft or distal jaw.
URS Handle with Insert: A reusable handle supplied with a compatible detachable forceps or grasper insert.
Complete URS Forceps: An assembled instrument containing handle, long shaft, actuation mechanism, distal jaw or prongs, and compatible connector.

These versions should have separate product codes and packing lists.

URS Handle Configurations

U-Shaped URS Handle: A metal handle with a U-shaped frame or spring action. Hand pressure operates the connected forceps mechanism.

Round Handle: A ring, round or compact proximal grip used with a compatible shaft and jaw assembly.

Detachable & Integrated Handle: Reusable handles designed to accept compatible removable inserts versus handles permanently or semi-permanently connected to the forceps shaft.

Locking & Non-Locking Handle: Configurations incorporating a lock or ratchet to maintain the selected grasp versus spring-action configurations that release when hand pressure is removed.

Compatible URS Instrument Tips

Subject to the ordered system, the handle may operate flat-jaw forceps, bi-prong forceps, tri-prong graspers, four-prong graspers, alligator-jaw forceps, and biopsy forceps. Handle compatibility with any of these inserts must be verified mechanically.

Possible Applications

When assembled with a compatible forceps insert, the URS Handle system may support:

Ureteroscopic stone-fragment retrieval
Retrieval after intracorporeal lithotripsy
Grasping selected ureteral fragments and renal-pelvis fragments
Removal of selected foreign bodies
Manipulation of selected endourological material
Specimen retrieval using an approved jaw
Selected PCNL applications when the instrument is compatible
Other approved endoscopic urology procedures

The handle alone does not determine the clinical application. The distal insert, diameter, working length and endoscope compatibility do.

Safety & Supply

Preoperative Checks, Safety Controls and B2B Supply

Preoperative Inspection Checklist

Before use, inspect handle body, spring action, pivot, insert connection, shaft straightness, jaw opening/closing, prong deployment, surface finish, and sterilization status.

Potential Risks: Ureteral mucosal injury, bleeding, perforation, avulsion, tissue entrapment, retained stone fragments, impacted instruments, lost fragments, jaw/prong breakage, component separation, channel damage, and infection.

Do not close a forceps on laser fibres or keep laser energy near metal forceps.

Cleaning and Reprocessing

Confirm reusability and whether handle/insert separate. Follow validated IFU for prompt pre-cleaning, internal flushing, enzymatic/neutral detergent washing, brushing joints/pivots, rinsing, drying, inspection, packaging, and sterilization. Do not immerse or ultrasonically clean the handle unless permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical, component, compatibility and safety answers for the Bharat Surgical URS Handle range.

It is the proximal mechanical control component used to operate a compatible ureterorenoscopy forceps, grasper or retrieval insert.

URS commonly refers to ureteroscopy or ureterorenoscopy in endourology.

No. This product operates an accessory forceps or grasper; it is not the main control body of a ureteroscope.

It may be supplied as a handle-only replacement or as part of a complete forceps. The packing list must be confirmed.

Possible inserts include flat-jaw, bi-prong, tri-prong, four-prong and alligator-jaw types. Exact compatibility must be verified.

It is a metal handle with a U-shaped or spring-frame profile that converts hand pressure into jaw or prong movement.

URS forceps commonly occur in 3 Fr, 4 Fr and 5 Fr sizes, but Bharat Surgical’s available sizes require confirmation.

Market instruments commonly include approximately 40 cm or 60–61 cm lengths. Do not publish these as Bharat specifications without confirmation.

Only when the connected insert is validated for the flexible scope’s working channel and deflection requirements.

It may be used when shaft diameter, length and jaw profile match the ureteroscope.

Some complete forceps may support URS and PCNL use, but the diameter, length and clinical application must be verified.

A standard handle may use grip or spring action, while a push handle primarily uses axial push-and-pull movement.

Compatibility should not be assumed. Coupling geometry, actuation travel, shaft length and jaw response may differ.

A stainless-steel handle is commonly reusable, but Bharat Surgical must confirm the usage and validated reprocessing instructions.

Use only the sterilization parameters stated in the supplied IFU. Material appearance alone does not prove autoclave compatibility.

Check the handle spring, pivot, insert lock, shaft, jaw movement, prongs, surface condition and sterilization status.

Do not use the instrument. Check for incorrect assembly, debris, shaft damage, handle wear or incompatible components.

Fragment size, anatomy and access must be clinically assessed. Excessive force can injure tissue or damage the scope.

The laser should not be activated against the forceps. Reposition or withdraw the instrument according to the system instructions.

Provide the old product reference, insert dimensions and clear photographs of the handle connection.

Medical and Procurement Disclaimer: Publish handle type, materials, compatible French sizes, working lengths, jaw options, reuse status and compatibility only after Bharat Surgical confirms the current product specification. Next Level 4 page: URS Push Handle.
