Bharat Surgical Co. provides assessment-led repair and service backup for supported reusable surgical instruments. Hospitals, surgeons, biomedical teams, dealers and distributors can submit laparoscopic, gynecology, urology, open-surgery and other applicable instruments for evaluation at our Mumbai facility.

Every instrument is different. Repairability, required parts, service scope, price and expected completion time are confirmed only after physical inspection of the make, model, condition and fault. No repair begins until the quotation or service scope is approved.

Service Support That Starts With the Instrument

Determining the serviceable cause requires physical inspection by skilled technicians.

A surgical instrument may stop performing correctly because of wear, misalignment, a damaged working end, loose movement, a handle or locking problem, surface deterioration, a connection issue or damage to an assembly. The visible symptom does not always reveal the full cause, so photographs can support an initial discussion but cannot replace physical inspection.

Bharat Surgical reviews the exact instrument and recommends one of three practical outcomes: repair within the accepted scope, return without repair where safe restoration is not feasible, or replacement consideration where repair would not be commercially or functionally appropriate.

Instruments That Can Be Submitted for Assessment

We review reusable surgical hand instruments across multiple medical specialties.

Reusable Laparoscopic Hand Instruments

Service enquiries may include supported graspers, dissectors, scissors, needle holders, clip applicators, trocars and cannulas, Veress needles, retractors, suction and irrigation instruments, monopolar electrodes, bipolar forceps and related reusable hand instruments. Acceptance depends on construction, condition, compatibility, spare-part availability and workshop capability.

Gynecology and Urology Instruments

Supported uterine manipulators, sheaths, working elements, forceps, needles, stone-handling instruments and other reusable gynecology or urology instruments can be submitted with the exact name, size, make, model or reference and fault description. Optics, powered devices and equipment are assessed separately and must not be assumed to fall within the standard hand-instrument scope.

Open-Surgery, ENT & Microsurgical

Selected forceps, scissors, clamps, needle holders, retractors and other reusable open-surgery, ENT or microsurgical instruments may be reviewed. Fine tips, delicate jaws, carbide components, special coatings and proprietary assemblies require instrument-specific confirmation.

Other Brands & Third-Party Support

Third-party instruments may be considered case by case. Send the manufacturer, model, catalogue or reference number, photographs and known fault before dispatch. Assessment does not confirm that compatible parts are available or that the original manufacturer's performance specification can be restored.

Stiff, loose or irregular movement Joint, hinge, shaft, handle, sliding mechanism, assembly and wear are checked to identify the serviceable cause.
Jaw, tip or blade not meeting correctly Alignment, working-end condition, wear, deformation and instrument-specific restoration feasibility are reviewed.
Ratchet, lock or handle problem Engagement, release, movement and component condition are checked before repair or replacement is quoted.

Send the instrument name, brand, model/ref #, fault description, location and photos. Mention any previous repair attempts.

Receive Initial Guidance

The team reviews suitability for workshop assessment and shares receiving address, contact person, packing guide and decontamination declarations.

Safe Packing & Dispatch

The facility cleans and decontaminates the instrument under its infection policy. Sharp points and delicate tips must be protected before shipping.

Inspection & Quotation

Following workshop inspection, Bharat Surgical provides a written quotation detailing repairability, price, exclusions, taxes and expected completion date.

Approval & Service

Work begins only after written approval. The repaired instrument is thoroughly verified for movement, alignment, fit and function before packing.

Return & Reprocessing

On receipt, check item identity and service outcome. The healthcare facility remains responsible for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization before clinical use.

Safety Rules

Decontamination and Safe Dispatch Requirements

Strict compliance protects personnel and ensures safe handling during workshop transit.

Decontamination Rule

Used surgical instruments must not be dispatched with blood, tissue, fluid, chemical residue or biological hazards. Bharat Surgical will refuse, quarantine or return contaminated packages.

Tip & Sharp Protection

Protect sharp points and delicate working ends without using adhesive tape directly on the metal. Do not place unprotected instruments loose inside a shipping box.

Immobilization & Lists

Immobilize moving parts where appropriate. Use individual labels/identifiers for multiple items, include an itemized packing list and use strong outer transit packaging.

Equipment Exclusions

Optics, telescopes, cameras, light sources, insufflators, generators or powered devices are not accepted for routine service without a separate written agreement.

Repair Support for Hospitals & Biomedical Teams

Hospitals and surgical centres can submit an item-wise service list through their biomedical engineering, central sterile services, operating theatre or procurement team. Include the hospital asset or identification number where used, department, reported fault, priority and approval contact so instruments are not mixed during review.

For multiple instruments, Bharat Surgical can review batch assessment and phased return requirements. Priority handling, collection, on-site inspection or emergency support must be requested and confirmed; it should not be assumed from the website page.

Service Support for Dealers & Distributors

Dealers and distributors can consolidate customer service enquiries with an item-wise list and clearly identify the end-user complaint, product reference, quantity, purchase history if available and expected commercial handling.

White-label service documents, direct end-user communication and return routing must be agreed before the instruments are sent. Where a product is beyond practical repair, Bharat Surgical can separately review an equivalent or replacement supply requirement.

Replacement Policy: A replacement offer is a new commercial quotation and should not be represented as part of the repair price unless specifically agreed in writing.

Common questions regarding our surgical instrument repair service and submission requirements.

Supported reusable laparoscopic, gynecology, urology, open-surgery, ENT and microsurgical hand instruments may be submitted for assessment. Exact acceptance depends on the instrument brand, model, construction, fault, condition, parts and workshop capability.

These reusable hand instruments may be assessed for problems involving movement, handle or locking action, jaw or blade alignment, shaft condition and working-end damage. Repairability is confirmed after inspection.

Supported reusable models can be reviewed for applicable mechanical, fit, valve, shaft, cannula or component issues. Clinical suitability and repairability cannot be confirmed from a product name alone.

Do not send optics, cameras, light sources, insufflators, morcellators, generators or other powered equipment without written acceptance. These products require a separate capability review and may be outside the standard service scope.

Third-party brands may be considered case by case. Assessment does not guarantee parts availability, manufacturer-authorized service status or restoration to an original proprietary specification.

Severe corrosion, pitting, cracking or material loss may make safe and reliable restoration unsuitable. The workshop will inspect the affected area and recommend repair, return without repair or replacement consideration.

Cost depends on the instrument, fault, parts, labour, quantity, return freight, taxes and accepted service scope. Bharat Surgical provides an order-specific quotation after assessment rather than a universal repair price.

Turnaround depends on assessment, quotation approval, repair complexity, parts availability, batch size, workload and shipping. Use only the expected completion date written in the approved quotation or service confirmation.

Decontamination Requirement

Used surgical instruments must not be dispatched with blood, tissue, fluid, chemical residue or biological hazards. Visible contamination will result in quarantine and immediate return at sender's cost.

Optics & Electronics Boundary

Telescopes, optics, cameras, light sources, insufflators, morcellators, generators and other powered or electronic equipment require separate written confirmation before shipment.
